Apple Cinnamon Turnovers
- FOR THE CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
- 2 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
- 1/2 sticks Butter, Softened
- 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- FOR THE TURNOVERS:
- 3 whole Apples
- 2 Tablespoons Water
- 2 Tablespoons White Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1/2 cups Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting, Plus More To Frost The Turnovers
- 1 box (about 17 Oz. Size) Puff Pastry
- 1 whole Egg, Beaten
- For the cinnamon cream cheese frosting:
- Use a mixer on low to whip together all the ingredients. Set aside.
- For the turnovers:
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0F.
- Wash, peel and dice the apples. Place them in a saucepan with water, sugar and cinnamon. Cook for 5-10 minutes over low heat until the apples are soft. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup cinnamon cream cheese frosting.
- Take out puff pastry sheets and cut each one into 4 equal squares. Place equal spoonfuls of the apple mixture into the middle of each square. Fold over into triangles and seal the edges with the end of a fork. Brush the outsides with the beaten egg.
- Poke holes in each turnover and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If you don't have parchment paper, use aluminum foil sprayed lightly with cooking spray to prevent them from sticking. Bake for about 20 minutes; I would advise checking your turnovers after 15 minutes. Mine were perfect after exactly 17 minutes.
- Frost or drizzle turnovers with additional cinnamon cream cheese frosting and enjoy.
