The Best Holiday Toffee
- 2 envelopes Saltine Crackers (from A 16 Oz. Size Box)
- 2 sticks Butter
- 1 cup Brown Sugar, Packed
- 1 bag (12 Oz. Size) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1-1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
- 3 Tablespoons Sea Salt
- Line the Saltine crackers in a single layer on aluminum foil lined pans (place foil on the pans shiny side down). Shiny side down is important-it makes it easy at the end! Preheat oven to 400 F.
- Put butter and sugar into a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Bring to a boil then lower heat and boil gently for 3 minutes. Spread the mixture over the crackers and bake at 400 F for 4-5 minutes.
- Take pan out of the oven and re-align crackers if needed. Pour chocolate chips over the crackers and allow them to get very soft. Use a knife to spread chocolate evenly across the crackers then add pecans and sea salt on top.
- Put toffee into the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. Once it is set, break it into pieces and serve!
