Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Heat olive oil on medium low in a large sauce pan. Add chopped onions and saute until translucent. Throw in garlic, crushed red pepper, black pepper, salt, and basil and saute another minute or so. Add canned tomatoes (and fresh if you have them), a can of water (use the tomato can), and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes, or longer if you have the time.
  2. Serve over your favorite pasta.
  3. This sauce is delicious without meat, but if you want to add some, brown it in a separate skillet and add to the sauce during the simmer.
