Almond Cookie Butter French Toast

  1. Lightly grease a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine egg whites, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and almond extract. Whisk to combine.
  3. Working with one slice at a time, dip the bread into egg mixture, ensuring that it is evenly coated on both sides.
  4. Place bread slice (or slices, depending on how many you can fit onto your skillet) onto skillet and cook on medium heat until golden and crispy on both sides.
  5. Once browned on both sides, move to a plate. Repeat process with remaining slices of bread.
  6. Once all slices are browned, top each with 1/2 teaspoon of cookie butter, and drizzle with chocolate syrup, if desired.
  7. Enjoy!
  8. Note: To get your bread slightly hardened, toast in a toasted for about 30 seconds. Be careful not to overcook bread; you just want to slightly harden it (not turn it a golden color).
