Almond Cookie Butter French Toast
- 3 Egg Whites
- 1/2 cups Milk
- 3/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoons Nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoons Almond Extract
- 4 slices Slightly Stale Bread (See Note)
- 2 teaspoons Cookie Butter
- Chocolate Syrup For Drizzling, If Desired
- Lightly grease a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine egg whites, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and almond extract. Whisk to combine.
- Working with one slice at a time, dip the bread into egg mixture, ensuring that it is evenly coated on both sides.
- Place bread slice (or slices, depending on how many you can fit onto your skillet) onto skillet and cook on medium heat until golden and crispy on both sides.
- Once browned on both sides, move to a plate. Repeat process with remaining slices of bread.
- Once all slices are browned, top each with 1/2 teaspoon of cookie butter, and drizzle with chocolate syrup, if desired.
- Enjoy!
- Note: To get your bread slightly hardened, toast in a toasted for about 30 seconds. Be careful not to overcook bread; you just want to slightly harden it (not turn it a golden color).
