Chocolate Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 c. quick uncooked oatmeal
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Lightly grease cookie sheet.
- In large mixing bowl, beat shortening and sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs; blend well.
- Stir in together flour, cocoa, soda and salt; also cinnamon.
- Add alternately with milk to shortening mixture.
- Beat well after each addition.
- Gradually stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove; cool 1 minute.
- Remove from cookie sheet onto a wire rack to cool.
- Yield: about 5 dozen.
- Very good.
