Company French Toast
- FOR FRENCH TOAST
- 2 loaves French Bread, Cut In 1 1/2" Slices
- 5 whole Eggs, Slightly Beaten
- 1-1/2 cup Milk
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 teaspoons Cinnamon, Ground
- 1/4 teaspoons Nutmeg, Ground
- 1/8 teaspoons Salt
- FOR PRALINE TOPPING
- 1/2 cups Butter, Melted
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 cup Pecans Or Almonds, Chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup, Honey, Or Pure Maple Syrup
- 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon, Ground
- 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg, Ground
- Beat eggs and stir in milk, vanilla, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well mixed.
- Dip sliced french bread quickly into batter and then arrange in a 9 x 13 well buttered baking dish making all bread pieces fit. Pour any remaining egg batter evenly over slices of french bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the praline topping ingredients and then pour over uncovered battered french bread slices.
- Bake for 40-60 minutes or until puffy and golden brown.
