Creamy Maple Apple Pie
- 1 cup Sugar, Plus Extra To Sprinkle On Top Crust
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 5 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 6 cups Apples, Chopped (Cortland Apples Work Marvelously)
- 3/4 cups Real Maple Syrup (None Of That Flavored Stuff!)
- 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
- 1 package Frozen Pie Crust (2 Pie Crusts To A Box)
- Milk, To Brush On Crust
- Combine sugar, salt, and cornstarch. Toss lightly with apples until well coated.
- In a separate bowl, combine syrup and cream. Pour over apple mixture. Mix well. Set aside.
- Roll pie crust to 1/8 inch thickness and ease into a deep dish pie plate. Spoon filling into the shell.
- Roll out the top of the pie crust and fit onto the filled pie. Cut vents for steam, brush with some milk and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until your crust is golden brown.
- Note: It's a GOOD IDEA to put some aluminum foil under your pie to protect your oven from overflow!
