Caramel Apple Cream Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. For the crust:
  3. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar. Add oats, flour, pecans, baking soda, cinnamon and allspice. Press half of the crust mixture in to a 9x13 pan. Bake at 350u0b0F for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, make the filling.
  5. For the filling:
  6. Mix sour cream, sugar, flour, egg and apple in a bowl.
  7. When it's done, remove the crust from the oven. Sprinkle the caramel bits over the hot crust. Then pour filling mixture over that. Last, crumble the remaining crust over the top and lightly press down.
  8. Bake an additional 25-30 minutes. Remove it from the oven and set dish on a rack. Let it cool before cutting for an easier cut.
  9. For the drizzle:
  10. Melt caramel bits and the whipping cream in a saucepan over low heat and drizzle over the top of the bars.
  11. Note: You can chop, shred or put apples in a food processor. I like to just process them in the food processor. Also, I leave the skin on one apple and peel the other. You can peel both or leave the skin on. I like a little bit of the flavor and color from the apple.
