Apple Baked Beans
- 3 cans (15 Oz. Size) Northern Beans
- 3 whole Granny Smith Apples, Chopped
- 1/2 whole Chopped Onion
- 1/2 sticks Butter
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2-1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 3/4 cups Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cups Catsup
- You can decide whether or not you'd like to keep or discard the apple peel for the recipe. I like to keep the peel on.
- Core the apples and chop into bite-sized pieces, no larger than a quarter. Combine chopped onion, apples and butter in a saute pan over medium heat and cook until soft. Add salt, cinnamon, brown sugar and catsup. Stir and cook until dissolved.
- Drain the Northern Beans and add to a crock pot on high. Add the rest of the ingredients to the crock pot with the beans and stir to incorporate.
- Turn the temperature to low after 1 hour and let beans cook slowly for the remaining 2 hours.
- Enjoy!
