Baked Buttermilk Donuts With A Nutella Glaze

  1. Preheat oven to 425u0b0F and spray a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, butter, and vanilla. Pour buttermilk mixture into the flour mixture, and stir until just combined.
  4. Using a piping bag or a large spoon, fill each cavity in the donut pan about 2/3 full. Bake 7-8 minutes or until golden brown and donut springs back when you touch it. Move to a cooling rack and continue with remaining batter.
  5. While the donuts are cooling, prepare glaze. In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and Nutella. If it is too thick, add more milk 1 tablespoon at a time; if it is too thin, add more powdered sugar 1 tablespoon at a time.
  6. Dip cooled donuts into glaze and swirl to coat evenly. Top with cute sprinkles and let sit on parchment paper until glaze is set. Best served the same day! If you are making them ahead, I'd suggest baking donuts but waiting to glaze them until soon before serving them.
