Pete'S Crab Cakes

  1. In a large skillet, saute onion and celery in 1 tablespoon butter for 3 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine onion and celery mixture, crab meat, 3/4 cup bread crumbs, mayonnaise, egg, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
  3. Mix well and shape into 4 patties.
  4. Coat with remaining 1/2 cup bread crumbs, pressing crumbs into patties.
  5. In same large skillet over medium heat, melt remaining 4 tablespoons butter.
  6. Fry patties in butter until golden brown on both sides, about 8 to 9 minutes total.
  7. Makes 4 crab cakes.
