Chocolate Chip Banana Cake With Honey Peanut Butter Frosting
- FOR THE CAKE:
- 1 box (18 1/4 Oz. Size) Yellow Cake Mix
- 1/4 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/3 cups Oil
- 3/4 cups Water
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1 cup Brown Bananas, Smashed
- 1 cup Mini Chocolate Chips
- FOR THE FROSTING:
- 1 cup Butter
- 1/2 cups Peanut Butter
- 4 Tablespoons Water, Divided
- 1/8 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 4 cups Powdered Sugar
- 3 Tablespoons Honey
- For the cake (double if you want to make a layered cake):
- Combine cake mix, baking soda, cinnamon, oil, water and eggs and beat on low for 1 minute. Increase the mixer speed a little bit and beat for 2 more minutes. Stir in the bananas and chocolate chips by hand.
- Grease and flour an 8-inch pan and pour the batter in. Bake at 350u0b0F for about 38 minutes. Check with a toothpick to be sure your cake is finished. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes then flip out on a wire rack to cool completely. Frost.
- For the frosting:
- Cream butter and peanut butter. Add 2 tablespoons water, salt, and vanilla and cream again. Slowly add the powdered sugar. After all the sugar is added, beat in another 1-2 tablespoons water. Beat in the honey until creamy.
