French Almond Cake
- 1 cup (8 Ounces) Almond Paste, Room Temperature
- 3 whole Eggs
- 2/3 cups Sugar
- 1/2 cups Butter, Softened
- 1/4 cups Cake Flour
- 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- Sliced Almonds (optional)
- Powdered Sugar (optional)
- Fresh Berries Or Berry Sauce (optional)
- Whipped Cream (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9" springform pan.
- Beat the almond paste until soft and pliable. Add eggs one at a time.
- Beat in the sugar. Add butter and beat until the batter is well creamed.
- Sift together the dry ingredients. Stir into the creamed mixture.
- Pour into the prepared pan. If desired, you can sprinkle sliced almonds on the top.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool.
- Serve spinkled with powdered sugar and fresh berries on the side or with berry sauce and whipped cream, if desired.
