Fresh Orange And Almond French Toast
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 6 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons Orange Zest
- 3 Tablespoons Slivered Or Sliced Almonds
- 3 whole Large Eggs
- 1/2 cups Orange Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Cream Or Milk
- 1/4 teaspoons Almond Extract
- 8 slices French Or Sourdough Bread, 1 Inch Thick
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, orange zest and almonds. Pour evenly over the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan.
- In a separate bowl, beat eggs, orange juice, cream and almond extract. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated. Lay bread in the prepared pan over the butter/sugar mixture.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Serve with maple syrup.
