Gooey Butter Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, cream together the cream cheese and the butter.
  3. Stir in the egg and vanilla.
  4. Add the cake mix and stir until well blended.
  5. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and then roll them in the confectioners' sugar. (The dough will be very sticky)
  6. Place 1 inch apart onto a non-greased cookie sheet (I line my pans with a Silpat or parchment paper).
  7. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes in the preheated oven. Larger cookies will take about 15 minutes.
  8. Allow cookies to cool for 2 minutes before placing them on a wire rack.
