Easy Crock Pot Applesauce
- 6 pounds Apples (Johnagold, Macintosh, Your Fave)
- 1/2 cups Water
- 1/2 cups Sugar (optional)
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon (optional)
- Take 6 or more pounds of your favorite apples and peel, core and slice them. If you're feeling rustic, leave a bit of peel. I like using my handy peeler, corer, slicer doodad, which is why it only takes me 15 minutes to throw this together.
- Add the apples to the crock pot. Add the water, and the amount of sugar and cinnamon that you choose. What I listed was my starting point and I adjust later if I need to.
- Set the crock pot for 4 hours on high, or 8-10 hours on low.
- At the end of the cooking time, the apples should fall apart when you stir. If you prefer non-chunky applesauce, run it through a food processor.
- Freezes well. I personally freeze individual servings in a silicone cupcake pan and once frozen, pop them into a freezer bag. When you want a serving, grab an individual piece.
