Brown Butter Barbecue Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 whole Garlic Cloves, Minced
- 1/4 cups Onion, Minced
- 1/4 cups Ketchup
- 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons Molasses
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- Slice the butter and put in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Let the butter melt evenly, stirring as it browns. This should only take a few minutes. Throw in minced garlic and onions, stirring while they cook through, about 3-4 minutes. Drop the heat down to low and add ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, molasses, brown sugar, chili powder, salt and pepper. Make the seasonings as hot and spicy as you would like. Add more chili powder and maybe red pepper flakes for more heat.
- Stir ingredients together and continue cooking until the sauce thickens a bit as the sugar caramelizes, for 4 or 5 minutes. Then remove from heat. You can let it cool, then put it in a container to store in the fridge. Or brush it on chicken to grill and serve immediately.
