Salted Caramel Squares
- 1 cup Pretzels, Crushed (regular Or Gluten Free)
- 6 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
- 2 teaspoons Sugar
- 4 ounces, weight Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 cups Heavy Cream
- 20 Kraft Traditional Caramels
- 2 Tablespoons Milk
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Mix together the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar in an 8"x8" glass baking dish. Press down evenly with a fork to form a solid crust and bake for 8 minutes.
- Place chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Microwave heavy cream for a minute and if it's not boiling heat for another minute - keep heating until it's boiling. Then pour hot cream over chocolate. Let the mixture sit for five minutes and then stir until smooth.
- Unwrap caramels and place them in a small bowl with the milk. Microwave on high in the same manner as above, until hot and bubbly. Stir until smooth.
- Pour chocolate over baked pretzel crust.
- Drop melted caramel by the spoonful over chocolate. Use a knife to give it a marbled effect.
- Refrigerate until firm enough to cut into squares.
- Makes 16 squares.
