French-Toasted Ham And Cheese
- 2 Tbsp. orange marmalade
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced cooked ham
- 1 (8 oz.) loaf party rye bread (slices)
- 1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced cheese
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
- In cup, stir marmalade and mustard until mixed.
- Set aside. Cut ham slices to fit on half of the bread slice; cut cheese slices to fit on top of ham, then top with a dollop of marmalade mixture and another bread slice.
- Preheat oven to 450u0b0.
- In 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jellyroll pan, melt butter; remove pan from oven. In pie plate with fork, beat milk and egg until mixed.
- Dip sandwiches, one at a time, into egg mixture to coat all sides. Place sandwiches in one layer in jellyroll pan.
- Bake until sandwiches are golden brown on both sides, or about 20 minutes, turning once.
- Cut each sandwich in half.
- Serve hot.
