Backpack Cookies

  1. Cream butter in a large bowl; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
  3. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
  4. Fold in oats and remaining ingredients.
  5. Bake at 350u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.
  6. Transfer cookies to wire racks and let cool completely.
  7. Yield:
  8. 7 1/2 dozen.
