Nutella-Chip Brownies
- 1/2 cups Unsalted Butter
- 1-1/4 cup 60% Bittersweet Chocolate Chips, Plus 1/2 Cup Reserved
- 3/4 cups Nutella, Plus 1/3 Cup Reserved
- 3/4 cups Packed Light Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
- 2 whole Large Eggs
- 3/4 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Water
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal. Cover parchment paper with cooking spray.
- In a heatproof mixing bowl, melt butter and 11/4 cups chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth. Do this in 15-second intervals, stirring in between to ensure that you do not scorch the chocolate. Once the mixture is melted, stir in the 3/4 cup Nutella. Cool the chocolate mixture until it's at room temperature. Then stir in the brown sugar and vanilla. Add eggs 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition, until mixture is glossy and smooth.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder) in another bowl and then add it into the chocolate mixture. Stir in the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
- Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Mix remaining Nutella with 1 teaspoon water in a heatproof bowl. Microwave for 15 seconds to thoroughly incorporate both ingredients, continuing to heat for additional 15 seconds until it's smooth.
- Drizzle Nutella mixture on top of the brownie batter. Using the tip of a paring knife, create swirls of the Nutella. Do not over mix, as you want to keep the swirls visible.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean. Cool in pan for at least 10 minutes and cut into 3 inch squares.
