Chocolate Bread Pudding
- 1 loaf Crusty French Bread (day Old Is Best)
- 3-1/2 cups Milk
- 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
- 3 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 cups Packed Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cups Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
- 6 whole Eggs, Slightly Beaten
- 6 ounces, weight Mini Chocolate Chips
- Sweetened Whipped Cream Or Vanilla Ice Cream, To Serve
- Cube bread into 1-inch pieces and place in a buttered 9x13 glass baking dish. Mix milk, heavy cream, chocolate syrup, and vanilla; set aside. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients and add to the milk mixture. Add beaten eggs and chocolate chips. Pour mixture evenly over the bread cubes and mix, making sure to cover completely. Let sit 20-30 minutes then place in a 350u0b0F oven. Bake uncovered for 60 minutes. A knife inserted should come out clean (except for a bit of melted chocolate). Let sit 10 minutes out of the oven. Serve warm with sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
