Hole Mole! Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2/3 cups Chopped White Onion
- 1 clove Garlic. Pressed And Finely Minced
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 2-1/2 Tablespoons Chile Powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1/4 teaspoons Cayenne Pepper To Taste
- 2 Tablespoons Flour
- 3 cups Vegetable Or Chicken Broth
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
- 1-1/2 ounce, weight Dark Chocolate Chips (more To Taste)
- In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium low heat. Add onion, garlic, cumin and cinnamon. Cook covered for about 10 minutes, until the onion softens. Add chili powder, oregano, cayenne pepper and flour and cook for 2-3 minutes. Whisk in chicken broth and vinegar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook to reduce for about 30-35 minutes. Remove from heat when thickened and stir in dark chocolate chips. Serve over your favorite shredded meat, yams, or spaghetti squash.
