Michelle’S Rice Pilaf
- 1 Tablespoon Canola Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Butter, Unsalted At Room Temperature
- 1/2 cups White Rice
- 1/4 cups Orzo
- 2-1/4 cups Water
- 2 Tablespoons Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Chicken Bouillon, Granular
- 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Onion Powder
- 2 whole Green Onions, Sliced
- In a medium skillet heat the oil and butter over medium-high heat until the butter is almost melted. Add the rice and orzo and cook until browned; be careful not to burn the rice and orzo.
- Add water, soy sauce, bouillon granules and seasonings. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook for 20 minutes. (No peeking!)
- When done, remove from heat and take the lid off. Fluff with a fork and add the sliced green onion. Stir to incorporate. Serve.
