Maple Bacon Baked Beans
- 4 slices Bacon, Chopped
- 1 whole Yellow Onion, Diced
- 1 can 28 Oz Baked Beans
- 1 can (14 Oz) Northern Beans
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
- 1/3 cups Pure Maple Syrup
- 1/2 cups Tomato Sauce
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
- In a large Dutch oven, combine bacon, onion, and beans.
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, brown sugar, dijon mustard, maple syrup, and tomato sauce. Pour this over the bean mixture. Add just enough water to cover the beans.
- Bake, with the lid on, in the preheated oven for 3 1/2-4 hours, uncovering it for the last 1/2 hour to brown the top. Check every 1/2 hour, and if the beans look dry, you may need to add more water. I added about 1/2 cup more.
