Mighty Spelt Burger Buns
- 25 grams Fresh Yeast
- 200 milliliters Lukewarm Water
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 whole Egg
- 100 grams Spelt Flour
- 320 grams Bread Flour
- 10 grams Sesame Seeds
- Preheat oven to 200u0b0C (390u0b0F).
- Mix yeast, water, oil and sugar in a bowl and allow to sit for around 15 minutes until it froths.
- In a food processor, or bowl, pour in yeast mixture, salt, and egg. Pulse a couple of times to mix. Add spelt flour and then slowly add bread flour until dough is sticky but pliable.
- Separate dough into 6 large balls and place on a baking tray, either very close together (if you want them to have a soft edge) or with enough space apart (if you prefer them to be a firmer texture all the way around). Mine were placed right next to each other. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and let rise for at least 10 minutes in a warm place (longer if you have the time). They rise very quickly, so you won't need any longer than 45 minutes.
- Bake for around 10 minutes. They are ready when the bottoms sound hollow when tapped. Leave on a wire rack to cool. Enjoy!
