Homemade Flat Bread
- 1/2 pounds, 2-5/8 ounces, weight Plain Flour
- 1 teaspoon Yeast
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 8 tablespoons, 2 teaspoons, 6 pinches Water
- 3/4 ounces, weight Butter, Plus Additional To Grease The Bowl
- Oil, To Lightly Grease Pan
- In a mixing bowl combine flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Mix 1 minute. Add water and butter. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
- Place in a greased (use butter) bowl. Cover the dough and let rise in warm place about 35 minutes.
- After that punch the dough down and make 10 rounds balls. Cover the balls and allow to rise for 20 minutes.
- Now take out each balls and roll into a disk using a rolling pin. The disks should be about 6 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick.
- Cook in a frying pan very lightly greased with oil. Let both sides cook until light brown.
- Serve hot with curry or your favorite dish.
- Enjoy.
