Granola With A Hint Of Cocoa
- 5 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder, Divided Use
- 4 cups Old Fashioned Oats
- 2 Tablespoons Flax Seed
- 1/2 cups Wheat Germ
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 cups Craisins
- 1/2 cups Chopped Walnuts
- 1/2 cups Honey
- Preheat oven to 300u0b0F.
- In a large bowl combine 3 tablespoons cocoa powder with all of the other ingredients. Mix thoroughly so the honey is evenly distributed throughout. Everything should be a bit sticky.
- Spread the granola evenly on a baking sheet. Bake for 40 minutes at 300u0b0F, stirring every 10 minutes. Then, increase the temperature to 350u0b0F and bake for 10 minutes, stirring at the 5 minute mark. The oats should be browned and more crunchy than soft.
- Remove it from the oven and let the granola cool slightly, and then mix in the remaining 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
- Allow the granola to cool completely before placing it in an airtight container for storage. Enjoy with milk or yogurt for breakfast or just eat it as a snack!
