Turnip Gratinee

  1. Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
  2. Rub a small gratin dish with garlic clove, then butter it well.
  3. Parboil the turnips for 2 to 3 minutes and drain.
  4. Arrange 1/3 of the turnip slices in a layer in the dish. Sprinkle them with salt and pepper and half the herbs. Mix the 2 cheeses and sprinkle the turnips with 1/3 of the mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with the cheese on top.
  5. Pour cream over the dish.
  6. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and dot with butter.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes.
