Tomato Soup Cake

• 1 tsp. soda
• 1 can tomato soup
• 2 Tbsp. shortening
• 1 c. sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 c. flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 c. citron (optional)
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• dash of nutmeg
• dash of allspice
• dash of cloves
• salt
• 1/2 c. raisins
• 1/2 c. currants
• 1/2 c. nuts
• 1 c. sugar
• 1 c. flour
• 1 c. milk
• 1 c. sugar
• 2 c. flour
• 2/3 c. oil
• 2 eggs
• 2 tsp. vanilla
• 3 tsp. baking soda
• 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 tsp. nutmeg
• 1 tsp. cloves
• 1 c. applesauce

1. Then add 1 cup of something you like, such as raisins, dates, chopped nuts, etc. (She used 1 cup chunky applesauce with 1 cup of raisins.)
