Quiche Lorraine
- 1 (8 or 9-inch) pie crust, baked at 450~ for 10 minutes
- 4 to 6 slices bacon, chopped, cooked and drained
- 6 to 8 slices onion, sauteed in butter until clear
- 8 slices boiled ham
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 c. half and half cream, heated but not boiled
- nutmeg
- Sprinkle bacon and onion over bottom of pie crust.
- Add half the ham, then half the cheese.
- Then rest of ham and rest of cheese
- on top of that.
- Beat eggs and mustard, slowly add the hot cream, stirring constantly.
- Pour this over the top of cheese. Let
- standt0 minutes.
- Sprinkle top with nutmeg and bakett 350u0b0.
- Test
- after 25 minutes with toothpick.
- Total time to bake, 45 minutes.
- Cool slightly, cut into slices.
