Hot Clam Dip
- 4 cans minced clams
- 4 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. oregano
- 1 pkg. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. red pepper
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 pkg. Parmesan cheese, shredded
- Drain the clams and set aside juice.
- Simmer clams in small saucepan with the lemon juice.
- In blender, combine green pepper, onion and 2 tablespoons of the clam juice.
- Blend on medium until mix looks soupy.
- To the clams, add butter and oregano.
- Heat until the butter melts.
- Add all the remaining ingredients including the onion/green pepper to the clam mix.
- Pour into 1 or 2 pie plates and cover with the shredded cheeses.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Serve warm with crackers.
