Better Brownies
- 1/2 cups Butter, Melted
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/3 cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 cups Chopped Nuts Or Chocolate Chips (optional)
- Note: You can use vegetable oil in place of the butter if desired.
- Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar and vanilla. Mix in the eggs. Set aside.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl. Gradually stir this into the egg mixture until well blended. Stir in the nuts or chocolate chips, if desired.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick is inserted and comes out clean.
- Let cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
