Healthy Chocolate Chip Breakfast Bars (Really!)

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. 2. Combine flours, baking soda, salt, oats and ground flax seed in a medium-sized bowl.
  3. 3. Blend sugar, brown sugar, butter, canola oil, vanilla extract and eggs in a large bowl until creamy. Gradually mix in the flour mixture.
  4. 4. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  5. 5. Pour mixture into an ungreased glass 9" x 12" baking pan.
  6. 6. Bake for about 15 minutes or until a sharp knife can be inserted and comes out clean.
  7. 7. Allow to cool then cut into squares. These freeze extremely well!
  8. Notes:
  9. Try to use as many organic ingredients as possible.
  10. Ground flax seed should be stored in the fridge.
