Brown Sugar Pecan Cookies (Amy Grant’S Grandmother’S Recipe)
- 2-1/2 cups Flour
- 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 sticks Butter
- 2-1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- 2 whole Large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1-1/2 cup Chopped Pecans, Plus Halves For Decorating
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F.
- Mix dry ingredients together and set aside.
- Cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat after adding each egg. Add vanilla. Beat till creamy. Add dry ingredients and mix. By hand, stir in chopped pecans.
- On prepared cookie sheet (I use a silicone sheet so I don't prepare my cookie sheets with any sort of shortening or spray), drop cookie dough by teaspoon about 2" apart. Bake for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and put a pecan half on each cookie. Return to oven for 6 more minutes till golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to cool.
- Can be stored in an airtight container if there are any left to store!
