Poppy Seed Bread With Orange Glaze

  1. Cream together butter and sugar; add eggs. Add remaining liquid ingredients. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and poppy seeds; add to the liquid mixture and stir until just combined. Pour batter into two 9x5 inch loaf pans filling 2/3 full (see note below). Bake at 350u0b0F for 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before glazing.
  2. Note: you can also use six small pans, but bake only 35-40 minutes.
  3. For the glaze, combine orange juice, powdered sugar and vanilla or almond extract and pour over the cooled bread.
