Poppy Seed Bread With Orange Glaze
- FOR THE BREAD:
- 1/2 cups Butter, Softened
- 2 cups Sugar
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1-1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 cups Vegetable Oil
- 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
- 3 cups Flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 3 Tablespoons Poppy Seeds

- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1/4 cups Prepared Orange Juice
- 3/4 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Or Almond Extract
- Cream together butter and sugar; add eggs. Add remaining liquid ingredients. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and poppy seeds; add to the liquid mixture and stir until just combined. Pour batter into two 9x5 inch loaf pans filling 2/3 full (see note below). Bake at 350u0b0F for 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before glazing.
- Note: you can also use six small pans, but bake only 35-40 minutes.
- For the glaze, combine orange juice, powdered sugar and vanilla or almond extract and pour over the cooled bread.
