Frankenstein Cake
- 1 box Chocolate Cake Mix, 16-18 Ounce Size, Or Make Your Own (need Two 9-inch Round Cakes)
- Additional Required Ingredients Specified On The Cake Box (typically Water, Eggs And Oil)
- 4 cups Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
- 2 drops Green Food Coloring
- 1/4 cups White Chocolate Chips, Melted
- 2 cups Chocolate Frosting
- 3 whole Peanut M&Ms, Any Color
- 1 whole Twix Candy Bar, 1.79 Ounce Size
- Prepare your cake according to package instructions then bake it in two 9-inch round cake pans. When done allow them to cool thoroughly.
- Once cooled, remove your cakes from the pan and stack them on your serving platter. In a medium-sized bowl mix the vanilla frosting with the green food coloring and frost your cake. Make the final layer around the cake as smooth as you can.
- Line a small plate with wax paper.
- Take two dollops of the melted white chocolate and place them on the wax paper. Smooth the white chocolate out to make two large eyes, about 2 inches in diameter. Now take two of the peanut M&M's (I used brown for the eyes) and place them in the middle of both of the white chocolate "eyes".
- Place the plate with the eyes in the fridge to harden while you decorate the rest of the cake.
- Take about half a cup of chocolate frosting and place it in a sandwich size Ziplock bag. Cut a very small cut in the corner of your bag (you can also use a piping bag fitted with a small round tip). Set the bag aside for now.
- Take a large dollop of chocolate frosting and place it on the center of the frosted cake. Working from the center out use a serrated frosting knife and smooth the chocolate frosting over the top of the cake. Go over the edge and down the side a little, continue all the way around the cake making his "hair" longer in the back (see photo).
- Remove your eyes from the fridge. Place a little frosting on the back of both eyes and stick them on your cake in the spot where you'd like your eyes to be.
- Take your last peanut M&M and stick it under the eyes as his nose. (I used brown, but green would be cute too!)
- Now take your piping bag and draw on his mouth and scar.
- Break or cut your Twix bar in half and stick one half on either side of the cake to make his bolts.
