- Directions:
- Prepare and bake cupcakes. Either homemade or a cake mix.
- Make icing (I like to make it from scratch!) or use 2 containers of ready made icing.
- How to Decorate the Mad Scientist Cupcake:
- 1. In a small bowl, make flesh colored icing for the face with a tiny bit of yellow and red. For darker skin, mix in a tiny bit of chocolate icing. Cover the top of cupcake with the icing.
- 2. Use neon green food coloring for the hair. Put the icing in a plastic sandwich bag and cutting a v shape in a corner. You can then squeeze out the crazy hair!
- 3. The glasses can be done the same but with a tiny cut in the corner of the bag. I used chocolate icing from a can for those.
- 4. Carefully add the mini M&M eyes, jellybean ears, nose and Cheerio mouth.
- 5. Ice the bottom cupcake with white icing.
- 6. Make sure after you place the head cupcake on top of the plain white cupcake, you secure with toothpicks.
- 7. Cut a bow tie out of the fruit roll-up and stick on the cupcake.
- 8. Add buttons with chocolate icing.
- Make your own mad scientist creations with the other cup cakes.
- Roll the sides of your cupcakes in sprinkles for a festive look.
- Use gummy worms and eyeballs for decoration.
