Quick Vegetable Fried Rice
- 1 cup Uncooked Rice
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce (not If Vegetarian)
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 whole Onions, Sliced
- 11 ounces, weight Canned Sliced Water Chestnuts
- 4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 4 Tablespoons Tomato Ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoons Sriracha Sauce Or To Taste
- 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Frozen Peas, Thawed
- 1. Cook the rice according to package instructions, adding Worcestershire sauce (if using) to the cooking water.
- 2. In a large skillet (or a wok), heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and saute for 3 minutes, until slightly browned and tender. Add the sliced water chestnuts and saute for 3 more minutes.
- 3. Add the rice, soy sauce, ketchup, Sriracha and sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper, stir well and cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring regularly. Add the peas, stir and cook for 3 more minutes, until they are warm. Adjust seasoning, serve warm.
