Ribs With Onion Sauce
- 4 lb. country-style pork spareribs
- 2 c. sliced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. salad oil
- 1/4 c. cider vinegar
- 1/4 c. chili sauce
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- Roast ribs, meaty side down, in shallow roasting pan at 450u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Turn ribs, meaty side up. Meanwhile, cook onion and garlic in hot oil until tender. Add remaining ingredients, 1/2 cup water and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Simmer 10 minutes.
- Pour sauce over ribs.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350u0b0.
- Bake ribs about 1 1/2 hours or until tender, basting occasionally, with sauce.
- If sauce gets too thick, add more water.
- Serves 4 to 6.
