Noel Salad(This Salad Is A Pretty Holiday Salad.)
- 1 can cranberry sauce
- 1 envelope non-flavored gelatin
- 1 orange
- 1/3 c. chopped nuts
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 drops green food coloring
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 1/3 c. diced celery
- 1/4 c. chopped, pitted dates
- 1 pkg. cream cheese
- lettuce leaves
- Crush cranberry sauce and put in pan.
- Add hot water and heat thoroughly.
- In a bowl, mix gelatin with cold water.
- Set 5 minutes, then add to cranberry sauce.
- Cool.
- When mixture starts to jell, fold in ground rind and pulp of orange, celery, nuts, dates and salt.
- Pour into a mold and chill until firm.
- Unmold on lettuce leaves.
- In a bowl, mix food coloring and cream cheese, then spread on salad to trim it.
- Serves 6.
