Pork Chops With Applesauce And Sauerkraut
- 6 pork chops
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 medium large onions, sliced
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 c. coarse fresh bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. prepared horseradish
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut
- 1 (15 oz.) jar applesauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- Brown chops in butter.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Set aside.
- Saut onion in butter left in pan for browning chops.
- Add more butter if necessary.
- Mix sauted onion thoroughly with rest of ingredients.
- Layer 1/2 of the mixture on bottom of a 9 x 13 x 2 pan; next, add the chops and top with remaining mixture.
- Cover with foil and bake in a 350u0b0 oven for about 2 hours or until desired doneness.
- Serve with noodles, rice or boiled potatoes.
