Apple Pie
- 6 cups Apples (peeled And Sliced)
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice (optional)
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1 dash Nutmeg
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 whole Double Pie Crust (store-bought Or Your Favorite Recipe)
- 1 whole Egg White Mixed With A Bit Of Water
- If your apples lack tartness, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add sugar mixture to the sliced apples; toss to coat fruit.
- Fill a pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate with apple mixture; dot with sliced butter. Adjust top crust onto the top of the pie, seal and flute edge. Brush with an egg white / water mixture and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- Bake at 375 degrees (F) for about an hour depending on the height of the pie. If the crust is over-browning, tent with foil. Cool and serve with cheddar cheese or ice cream if desired.
