Grandma Elizabeth’S Old Fashioned Cobbler
- 2 cups Granulated Sugar, Divided
- 1 cup Self-Rising Flour
- 1-1/2 stick Butter, Divided
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 cups Fruit Of Choice, Peeled And Chopped (apples, Peaches, Berries, Etc.)
- Cinnamon, To Taste
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix 1 cup sugar and the flour together in a medium sized bowl. Melt 1 stick of butter and add it into the mixture. Add milk into the mixture and stir until lumps are gone. Pour batter into a greased 13x9-inch pan.
- 2. Add chopped fruit over the top of the batter.
- 3. Add remaining 1 cup of sugar evenly over top of the fruit.
- 4. Cube the remaining 1/2 stick of butter and place cubes randomly over top of the sugar. Sprinkle with cinnamon as desired.
- 5. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes.
- Note: If you use particularly sweet fruit, then use less than 1 cup of sugar to cover the chopped fruit in step 3.
