Salted Chocolate And Sour Cream Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk together until fluffy.
  3. Add in flours and cocoa powder and beat with a mixer until well blended.
  4. Gently, fold in sour cream.
  5. Pour the mixture into a well-greased baking pan and sprinkle a bit of the salt over top. Just a touch will do - a little salt goes a long way!
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until done. Remove from oven and allow to cool before frosting.
  7. To make the buttercream frosting, cream together a half stick of butter (at room temperature) with about a half cup of powdered sugar and a tablespoon of the cocoa powder. Add more sugar/cocoa to thicken. If you need to thin it out a bit, add a splash of milk. This is a super simple frosting that enhances this delicious cake.
