Grand Marnier French Toast
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 c. orange juice
- 1/3 c. Grand Marnier
- 1/2 c. half and half
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- grated peel from one orange
- cinnamon to taste
- cut loaf French bread (2 inch thick slices)
- flour
- oatmeal
- sugar
- milk
- yeast
- eggs
- cardamon
- Heat 2 cups skim milk.
- Put in large bowl.
- Add 4 tablespoons sugar (somewhat more if you want a slightly sweeter taste).
- Add 2 eggs (or 3 egg whites/no yolks, if you want to lower your LDL cholesterol).
- Carefully add 1 tablespoon cardamon.
- Stir.
- Mixture should be warm (just about body temperature if you have a high fever).
- Add 1 package yeast.
- Add 2 or 3 cups flour and 1 cup whole oats.
- Mix well and let rise several hours.
