Manicotti And Cheese
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion (garlic optional)
- 1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
- 1 lb. 12 oz. can tomato puree
- 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. oregano
- 3/4 tsp. basil
- 1 pt. Ricotta cheese
- 1 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 10 manicotti shells
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- Brown beef, onion and pepper.
- Add puree, salt, pepper, sugar, oregano and basil.
- Simmer 15 minutes.
- Combine Ricotta, 3/4 cup Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese with egg.
- Cook manicotti shells and fill with cheese mixture.
- Place 1/2 of meat sauce in 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Add filled shells.
- Cover with remaining sauce, Mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover and bake at 350u0b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
