Herb Hot And Sour Soup

  1. Partially freeze chicken or pork.
  2. Cut meat into 1 x 1/4-inch strips.
  3. Sprinkle meat with 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce.
  4. In large saucepan, bring chicken broth to boiling; stir in meat, the remaining soy sauce, vinegar, pepper, sugar, mushrooms, cabbage and carrots.
  5. Simmer, covered, 20 minutes.
  6. Add basil; simmer 3 minutes.
