Chocolate Halloween Muffins

  1. Preheat the oven to 180u0b0C (356u0b0F). Either line 12 muffin cups with paper liners, or you can butter or spray them with a non-stick vegetable spray.
  2. In a bowl mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, sifted cocoa powder and yeast.
  3. In a second bowl mix the wet ingredients: eggs, milk and melted butter. Add this wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir with a rubber spatula just enough to combine everything. If the dough is too thick add a little more milk.
  4. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tins, filling each about 2/3 of the way full and add some Kinder Egg pieces on top of each muffin.
  5. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Place pan on a wire rack to cool for five minutes and then remove muffins from the pan.
  6. When they've cooled down, put the milk chocolate and a splash (about a tablespoon) of milk into a saucepan over low heat and cook until melted. Or you can heat this mixture in the microwave, on 30 second heat bursts, stirring in between. Drizzle melted chocolate over the top of the cooled muffins and decorate the top with candy decorations.
  7. Note: Kinder Egg is a confection manufactured by an Italian company which consists of a milk chocolate shell with a small surprise inside. You can substitute it with milk chocolate pieces or M&Ms, for example.
