Beef And Cornbread Supper

  1. Preheat oven to 425u0b0.
  2. Brown beef in a 12-inch cast-iron frying pan.
  3. Add soup, onion and Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Sift the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt together into bowl.
  5. Add shortening and milk and beat until smooth.
  6. Pour over the ground beef mixture and spread to within 1/2-inch of edge of pan.
  7. Top with pepper rings.
  8. Bake at 425u0b0 for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
